PW Pizza

I would eat pizza everyday if the end result was not a four hundred pound version of myself. Happy with the pizza options currently provided in St. Louis (Pi Pizzeria. The Good Pie. Joanies Pizza. Katie’s Pizza.), I was still excited to see PW Pizza open up in my neck of the woods.

Aptly named PW after owners Peter & Wendy, PW Pizza is the newest addition to the couples restaurant index, which includes Eleven Eleven Mississippi, Vin De Set, Malt House Cellar, Moulin Events, & Grande Petite Market. Stationed on the first floor of the Centennial Malt house at 2017 Chouteau, this new pizza joint should definitely be on the must try list.

 {Even the beer menu uses local ingredients – Schlafly Beer bottle caps.

{The Gringo: greens, chicken, red onion, monterey jack, corn-black bean-tomato cilantro salsa & chipotle-peppercorn ranch.}

There is something so fantastic about the simplicity of pizza. Crust, sauce, cheese, toppings. That’s all – and it’s a meal. I can’t decide if it was the fresh mozzarella and basil topping combination or the soft, yet crunchy crust that made PW’s self-proclaimed ‘east coast’ style of pizza so delicious. I didn’t focus too much on which part of the pizza made it the best, because in the end each slice was delicious.

{Margherita Pizza: tomato sauce, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella & pecorino romano.}

Should you find yourself craving pizza,  in the Lafayette Square area, or both – drop into PW Pizza. It will probably be the best choice you make that day.

    I am not big on pizza. I don’t necessarily dislike it, but it’s never in my top 10 choices of what I want to eat. That said, I’ve heard amazing things about PW Pizza and your photo looks awesome, so I’ll have to try it out!
