giving thanks.

I survived making my first thanksgiving meal. With a lot of hands on help from dad – mashing potatoes and such – and lots of questions to mom about temperatures and textures, I managed to get everything on the table on time. I’m not entirely sure the family appreciated my twist on the turkey, but they did love the bacon vinaigrette green beans instead of the usual casserole. I have no desire to do it again next year. Or the year after.

    What is the long thing in the middle with something dark coming out of it?

      Ha. That is my attempt at turkey roulade filled with figs, cranberries, brandy and stuffing! (Forgot to butter the top – shhhh!)
