Ode to the Waffle Cone

July 23, 2013

There are many rumored starts to the waffle cone, but I choose to believe the version that credits St. Louis with the ingenious invention. That story says a St. Louis a man was serving ice cream at the 1904 World’s Fair and ran out of bowls, so he started serving it in rolled up waffles. And just like that, the waffle cone was born! Happy 109th birthday, you convenient, delicious holder of ice cream. And now, an ode to the waffle cone by Kelsey McClure.
